Stamps Scholars | August, 2025

On August 1st, 2025, Aneesa Redissi (middle) presented at the Stamps Scholars Oral Presentations, an event hosted by UROP and the Stamps Scholars Program at the University of Michigan. She showed off her studies on the mechanistic and ecological features of S. mutans biofilms, work done towards her honors thesis. Hats off to you Aneesa!

UROP Symposium | April 23rd, 2025


On April 23rd, 2025, Christopher Qu, a first-year undergraduate at the time, presented a poster at the spring symposium for the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). His presentation featured his work 3D modeling a system to provide controlled heating at specific time points while imaging using a confocal microscope. Chris is one of many outstanding UROP students within our lab. Impressive start Chris!

XR/VR Work Featured | October 10, 2025

In October 2025, the SPH-XR team, including Dr. Rickard and Duane White, was featured in a Center for Academic Innovation blog post on their innovative laboratory safety project. Collaboration in Newcastle, UK | August, 2025

In August, 2025, Dr. Rickard traveled home to the UK to visit his colleague Dr. Nick Jakubovics in Newcastle upon Tyne at the University of Newcastle. The two shared great discussion about ongoing biofilm work in both England and Ann Arbor. Thank you Dr. Jakubovics for the hospitality!
